It is important for you to understand what coverage you have and what coverage you need.

Occupational Accident Coverage

Occupational Accident plans are available for owner-operators or drivers who are not required by law to purchase Workers’ Compensation coverage. Occupational Accident coverage protects drivers following a work-related injury. Coverage includes accidental medical expenses, temporary total disability, permanent total or continuous disability (must qualify for and benefits are offset by Social Security disability benefits), accidental death and dismemberment, and non-occupational benefits. This is not Workers’ Compensation or Health insurance.

Passenger Accident

Provides protection for injuries sustained in accidents for eligible passengers whose names are on file with the motor carrier. Co-drivers, helpers, and employees of the owner-operator and/or motor carrier are excluded, as well as hitchhikers, stranded motorists, and passengers under five (5) years of age. Annual and monthly plans available.

Physical Damage

Physical damage is protection for the insured's vehicle for damage or loss resulting from a collision or specified peril.
Coverage limit is the greater of the outstanding financial obligation under a finance agreement (policy conditions must be met) or the lower of the stated value or actual cash value.

Rating is applied per $100 of the stated amount value.  Choose from various deductibles.

Optional coverages available for an additional monthly premium include:

  • Downtime/Rental Reimbursement
  • Personal Effects/ Electronic Equipment
  • Aggregate Deductible
  • Diminishing Deductible
  • Tarps, Chains & Binders

    * Must meet our standard driver criteria.

Non Trucking Liability

Non-trucking liability provides limited liability coverage for leased owner-operators while the vehicle (truck) is being operated as a personal vehicle, outside the scope of the motor carrier's control or direction, and with no economic benefit to the owner-operator or the lease company.

For example, non-trucking liability is applicable once the vehicle has reached its regular place of garaging and the driver leaves again to run a personal errand.

Any business use of the covered vehicle will eliminate coverage under this non-trucking liability policy.

For example, non-trucking liability does not apply while driving to or returning from delivering a load. In that case, the primary liability coverage should apply because the vehicle is in business use.

Non-Trucking Liability is neither "Bobtail Liability" nor "Unladen Liability" coverage.

Workers' Compensation for Fleet Owners

Insures the owner-operator for his/her statutory obligation to provide Workers’ Compensation and Employer’s Liability coverage for employees of the owner-operator for work related injuries.  Coverage, benefits and rates vary by state. This does not cover the owner-operator or anyone who is an employee of the motor carrier. State minimums apply.
